Black is often a very misunderstood color. Think about how black cats are not as likely to be adopted from shelters (although their personalities are some of the most loving, I think). While black can be associated with death, mourning, and the underworld, I also think black has a depth and a mystery to it, symbolizing the spiritual and the unseen.
Speaking of black, the reason why I incorporated onyx into my Warrior Collection is because of its associations with power and protection. Onyx is said to increase your confidence and inner strength, particularly during times of uncertainty and stress. It is also said to be able to absorb and transform negative energy making it an ideal stone for the current climate right now.
There is also an elegance and a formality one exudes when wearing black. I bought this black turtleneck the other day and it is such a simple article of clothing yet it makes me feel so sophisticated and powerful. We all have those trusted basic black items in our closet that are our go-to staples, right? I find myself drawn toward black lately, not because I'm moody or depressed, or gothic, but because it just makes me feel put together, elevated, and classic without much effort.
