My custom design process begins with a personal connection. Whether it's you or someone you're creating for, understanding the essence behind the person is integral to creating a piece that will be cherished for a lifetime. I believe in crafting jewelry that is focused on quality, timelessness, transcends trends, and is meaningful to the wearer.
Collaborating closely, we will delve into symbolism that resonates with the wearer, infusing the design with meaning that reflects their journey and values. It's about more than just adornment. It's about inner exploration and personal expression, resulting in a unique piece that embodies both the recipient's internal values and their personal style.
How the Process Works
Step One
Fill Out the Custom Jewelry Questionnaire
Start the process by filling out the Custom Jewelry Questionnaire at the bottom of the page. This is the best way to see if your project is a good fit for my design style and to get a sense of what you're looking to create. Once you fill out the questionnaire, I’ll respond via email to schedule your initial consultation.
Step Two
Initial Consultation
We will meet either in person, virtually over Zoom, or email (whichever is your preference), to discuss the details of your piece. This is where I can learn about you or the person we are designing for and get a sense of their personality, lifestyle, and personal style.
It is in this first meeting that I like to hone in on jewelry type, metal type, and ring size (if applicable) and go over general design ideas. If you have design ideas, images, or a stone you’d like to use please bring them with you.
Step Three
Design
Once I have the details of your design determined, I will move on to the design phase. I will translate the details of our consultation into drawings for your review with up to three rounds of alterations sent via email.
Once we have settled on a final design, you will sign my agreement contract indicating your approval to move forward. I will send you an invoice for 50% of the estimated total due to ensure your commitment to the project. Once the deposit is paid you will no longer be able to make alterations to the design.
Step Four
Sourcing + Production
I will start sourcing your materials including metals, stones, chain, etc. after your 50% deposit is made. Once this process starts I will no longer be able to refund you the deposit.
Then production begins whether it be fabrication, casting, or rendering in CAD. This is when all the details of your piece of jewelry will be brought to life! Production typically takes 4-6 weeks.
Step Five
Completion
Once your piece is completed I will send you images of the final piece for your approval. Upon approval I will then send you an invoice for the remaining 50% plus shipping (if applicable). Once the invoice is paid I will either ship your piece to you or have you pick it up in person to see your new treasured heirloom for the first time.
